An astronaut on the moon
Holds his thumb up high
To the Earth he was to return to.
He launches from the moon,
Lands into the ocean.

His office friends throw a party,
Happy for him to have returned.
But the astronaut walks home,
To a lonely house,
An empty bed.

He eats alone.
Walks alone.
Sleeps alone.
Watches his own televised return to Earth;
Alone.

As he waits for the bus on his own
A deep sea diver awaits as well.
They swing and dine.
And fall in love.
Then no one is ever alone.
